High Flight Winter 2000 IMAA Logo

On the Cover: Winter 2000

PA-18 Super Cub: The bigger than life Super Cub on the front cover is an exact 1/3 scale copy of the builder's full size version in his hangar. IMAA member and builder Phil Sibille built this beauty from scratch, with scaled down factory drawings and a hands on reference. Wingspan is 144" with a weight of 37 lbs. The realistic sound and power comes from an OS 300 four stroke four cylinder swinging a Zinger 22x8 wood prop. Phil controls all the functions with a JR radio.

The red and white cream covering is Stits Lite fabric and paint from F&M Enterprises. The Super Cub sports a full interior patterned after the full size down to maps and magazines.

Phil is a retired Captain for Eastern Airlines and a CFI (certified Flight Instructor). Phil hails from Charlotte, Florida. The big model has flown at Top Gun, The US Scale Masters Championships, and many IMAA events.
