On the Cover: Summer 2000

The beautiful cover photograph is of John Vance's 40% Carden Aircraft Cap 232 with a 116" wingspan. John uses the new Desert Aircraft DA-150 engine for power turning a Mejzlik 32x10 carbon fiber prop mounted with a Tru-Turn spinner. The radio is the well known JR PCM 10X with ten 8411 JR Digital servos. Dual receivers are on board with dual Duralite battery packs. Covered with Monokote and weighs 38 lbs. John won "Best Aerobatic Plane" at the recent AMA IMS Show in Pasadena, California. See Bill Brundle's article in this issue on some of the construction techniques used on this big bird model.
The photo was captured by our own Francisco "Chico" Chanes on a two and a quarter transparency.
