On the Cover: Spring 2003

Our very distinctive night time cover photo was shot by Stephen Faust of Boston, Massachusetts. Steven's Carden 40% Extra 330S was built by Mike LaPierre, owner of the LaPierre Airplane Factory. The 118 inch span Extra is powered by a Desert Aircraft DA-150. It uses a JR 10X radio and dual JR receivers with redundant NiMh batteries. It is finished by PPG automotive paint. A Don Harris smoke system does the skywriting.
