High Flight Fall 1999 IMAA Logo

On the Cover: Fall 1999

Richard Feroldi's 1/3 scale 1916 Airco DH-2. This vintage model is covered with SIG Coverall. The painted surfaces are Nitrate Dope and Rustoleum. The wingspan is 113 inches and weighs 40 pounds. Rich uses the Sach's 4.2 for power and it is nicely buried in the aft cowl section of this unusual WWI Pusher aircraft. The photograph was taken at the 1999 TOP GUN INvitational in West Palm Beach, Florida by vacationing Robert Ramirez in 2.25 transparencies. Bob shot a lot of fabulous IMAA Member's aircraft at this event. Rich's DH-2 won Best Pre WWII Aircraft Award at Top Gun. The model drew a lot of attention and it flew very well with excellent presence in the air.
