Another plan set by Jim Pepino, this too is done in quarter scale giving a span of 84 inches, a weight of 15 to 17 pounds, with a wing loading of 30 to 32 ounces. The plans come in two sheets.
Sheet Number One:
This sheet shows the fuselage left side view plus the top view, fin and rudder, horizontal stab and elevator. Construction of the fuselage is quarter square balsa longerons, uprights and cross members, with formers for decking contour, and plywood sheeting reinforces the forward end back to the rear of the cockpit. The empennage is built up construction and a CB tailwheel is shown. On this sheet is shown some good isometric views and a good three-view. I believe the isometrics at least came from an old issue of Air Progress.
The landing gear is of wire construction and faired over with hard sheet balsa. Windshield pattern is also shown. There is no engine shown, but it seems to me that this would be an ideal plane for the OS FF240 four cylinder.
Sheet Number Two:
This sheet shows both wing panels. However, the wing is built in one piece with landing gear and rigging wires attached. When you get to the field, install the wing with two bolts, two screws for the rigging wires and fly. Very unique!
The wing is built on two "I" beam spars with 1/8th inch balsa ribs, cap stripped. All fuselage formers, wing ribs and dihedral braces are shown on this sheet. Instrument panel layout shown also. Jim's method of construction on this project is very good, yet simple! Looks like it would build fast and be an excellent flyer. Plans set for $22.00 from Scale Plans-Photo Service.
