The Spezio Tuholer, designed for the home builder, makes an attractive and gentle aircraft. The airfoil (semi semetrical) shown, should do a possible job of basic aerobatics. The plans show a Q-40 as power and this should do the job. A Q-50 would not overpower this model and would increase the performance but would put it out of scale performance. I feel that a model plane should fly as a scale. If you want aerobatics, then build aerobatic.
The plans are well drawn and easy to follow. I do
object to only showing one wing panel and instructing the builder to oil
the plans for the opposite wing panel. Many modelers take great pains to
preserve their plans and trying to store oiled plans is messy and can
present a spontaneous combustion hazard. The plans mention that the
wing can be constructed in three sections but with no details as to how
to do this. I know that most modelers can come up with engineering to
accomplish this. This plane should appeal to the modeler who is fairly
new to Giant scale and may need help in order to prevent disaster in
flight due to the poor design of the wing joining (sic). These are only
personal observations and do not greatly detract from the value of a
well drawn fine Giant model aircraft. The movements area, wing loading
and power shown on the plans should make into a good flying scale model.
