Wally Rinker built a Supermarine S-3 seaplane that
spans nine feet, and weighs in excess of 60 lbs. One of the problems with
a massiveproject like this is how are you going to get the engine started.
There aren't too many of us that will flip a 6 cid engine by finger.
Wally's solution is a modified car starter with welded-on handgrips
and a thumb-operatd solenoid; and firmly-planted feet! It
works SUPER, kicking that Husquavarna over like it wasn't even
there. I would recommend the solenoid be at the battery for greater
safety.
