STAINLESS STEEL RIGGING WIRE
Idea By Ken Runnestrand

Most antique bipe models have copious quantities of stainless steel rigging wire holding everything together. If you have spider instincts when you start rigging your bird, many well-equipped sporting goods stores stock "Downrigger Wire," which is 140-lbs test stainless steel wire, and "Steelon", which is nylon-coated stainless wire.

A local shop search by Ken yielded a 400-foot roll of downrigger wire for $8.00, and 30-feet of Steelon for $1.69. Be sure to ask for matching "nickle sleeves" at the same time. Stainless wire cannot be soldered, so these sleeves must be pinched onto the wire to hold any loops or ties.
