The National Aeronautic Association (NAA) Is a protector of the rights and growth of aviation related activities. The National Aeronautic Association works closely with the FAA, DOT, and aviation industry representatives to help promote the safety, right of access, and better understanding of aviation and air sports. AMA is a division of the National Aeronautic Association. Through NAA, AMA is recognized by the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI), the world governing body of all aviation activity, as the only organization which may direct U.S. participation in international aeromodeling activities.
The Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI), the world's air sports federation, was founded in 1905. It is a non-governmental and non-profit making international organization with the basic aim of furthering aeronautical and astronautical activities worldwide. Ever growing, FAI is now an organization of some 85 member countries.
The Model Aeronautics Association of Canada (MAAC) is the Official Governing Body for Model Aviation in Canada, acting as a liason to government agencies, such as Industry Canada (formerly Department of Communications) with regard to radio frequencies and their use in radio controlled models, as well as representing our internationally competitve modelers to the Fédération Aéronautique International (FAI) through the Aero Club of Canada.
