Nice site, keep up the good work. IMMA could be in the near future as I am building larger planes now. Currently AMA 611630 Barry Scharf <ScharfBG@aol.com> ST. PETE, FL. USA - December 4, 1998 at 11:37.54 I am a new member and looking for information on how to contact BME engines.. I did not want to clutter the classified section with this question. Can you provide contact info for BME enginges? Your Web Pages and info provided is great! Walt Torgersen <wtorg@home.com> San Ramon, Ca USA - November 25, 1998 at 10:38.41 I am a member of the Blennerhassett Area R C Club. I have been flying RC for 5 years now and have been a member of the IMAA about 6 months. I am very interested in World War II Scale models. Dennie Parsons <parsondr@wirefire.com> Washington, WV USA - November 20, 1998 at 23:45.46 enjoyed the site. intrested in anything to do with r/c aircraft. in the process of finishing a cap 232 and enjoying every minute of it. this is my first large scale airplane, and its maiden flight should be intresting but looking forward to it. I have only been in the hobby for three yrs currently flying a heavy astro hog. very honest aircraft, but was forced to increase from a .40 thunder tiger to a .61 thunder tiger, making the plane unfortunately even heavier, but much faster and powerful. if anyone has any hints or tricks about construction or flying of the cap 232 please feel free to e-mail me, I would love to chat about this awsome aircraft. greg schnoor <mpennock@telusplanet.net> lethbridge, alberta canada - November 17, 1998 at 15:52.44 I'm seeking information on the North American NA-50. This aircraft was build in 1938 as a single seat fighter by North American for export. It was built with T-6 parts modified to enhance proformance. Seven were built, and I have pictures of one at the Scottsdale, AZ Air Fare 10/17/98. Need info as to spec's.Thanks Jack Cole <PLANEJACK1@aol.com> Colo Springs, CO USA - November 17, 1998 at 13:2.25 Great overhaul of the magizine. Please re-touch the photos as we have not gained that much weight. Nice to see the ego's in check and fun being restored. Ray Webster <fyce.mook@worldnet.att.net> Ladson, S.C. USA - November 16, 1998 at 21:18.28 Just bought a Zenoah G-38. Would like to build a Spitfire, about 7 foot span. I am an experienced modeler in RC planes up to .60 size sport aerobatic planes such as the Sig Kougar. I'm looking for plans, or information on what is typically used for firewalls on this size planes. If I can't find plans for this plane in this size, intended for these engines, I may try to design my own. Again, this is something I've been doing for years in the smaller size range, but I'm sure I'd build either a "brick" or a too weak plane if I just started cold. I really don't want to build a kit for some other plane just to get a feel for building models this size. This is a space where the members can truly build their own space and do it in real time. Keep the web site at any cost! I'm (very) slowly building a Pietenpol Air Camper. 84 inches, OS 90 FS, cable controls, etc. Bernie Pietenpol lived and worked just a few miles from my home in Rochester and his son lives here in Rochester. Can the Carden do anything the Midwest can not? What if any significant differences are there? I have seen Mike McConville do more with the MW 232 than most people can do with bigger aircraft. If money was not an issue I would get the Carden, but it is. They are both good aircraft but I do not want to be performance limited. Any comments from people who have flown either one of these would be appreciated. Thanks Mark Scott <mscott03@snet.net> Bethany, CT USA - June 27, 1998 at 11:52.47 I, along with some others, should have explored the web site a little more before commenting. Red Scholefield <redscho@gnv.fdt.net> Gainesville, FL USA - June 24, 1998 at 17:37.6 Several inquiries have been made regarding acquiring copies of the Constitution & By-laws. I recalled seeing them published in High Flight and found them in the Spring Issue 1995, Vol. 16, No. 1, if anyone is interested. Of course, there may have been amendments since that time. If so, I think it would be prudent to publish an update version for all members to study. Most organizations usually supply members with information packets with such data; however, that can be rather expensive depending on membership turn-over. Publication periodically, say every two years, should be sufficient for information purposes. A copy of the Articles of Incorporation would be useful also. Russell M. Stiff, IMAA 1303 <rmstiff@roanoke.infi.net> Troutville, VA USA - June 23, 1998 at 19:6.2 This website is always being up-dated. The Classifieds and this Guest Book are done nearly every day. I appreciate the response of those that tried to help. I did locate Don's current address (he is not into computers yet) and we have corresponded concerning the dilemma with IMAA. I also talked briefly with Bob Dean last week at The Ralley of the Giants in Danville, VA. I was encouraged by Bob's comments and believe that the problems are on the mend. Withholding dues is not the answer to the problems at hand. Participating in a responsible way at election time with your vote and providing feedback to the Director you elect is the appropriate way of assuring that IMAA is the fun-flying organization that attracted you to join in the first place. The ballot box is your most effective way to institute change and you should be knowledgeable about whom you are voting to represent your interests. Russell M. Stiff <rmstiff@roanoke.infi.net> Troutville, VA USA - June 22, 1998 at 7:51.37 Hats off to the City of Danville and Buddy Green and his team for organizing the best IMAA event I have ever attended. The Danville Rally went off without a hitch and everybody I talked to had a great time. I especially want to thank the guys in the flight line "tower", the tech team and the guys in radio impound. Mostly thankless, but key long hour jobs. It was a great, safe event with lots of great no wait flying. Thanks again. I also got to spend some time with Sam Wright, our new High Flight editor. There is just to much to do to let this side track us. The website and the magazine should compliment each other, neither dominating the other. There are times when news is timely and can't wait; at those times the website is the ideal vehicle to get the news out quickly, in these cases it is also members responsibility to print these items out and share them with our flying buddies that don't have net access. It is also a go way for the District VP's to get news out that is pertinent to thier disctict and should USE IT! Well, back to the building board, 1/4 Clipped Wing Cub. There are also egos and jealosies to put up with. I would think that what ever rules, or Bi-laws that govern IMAA would be used or amended to dictate how High Flight and the web site are used or run. I think the IMAA web site is great. On the other hand, I liked many of the advertisements on giant scale in High Flight, but over-all, the magazine is a bit dull. A change of editor was needed. I might suggest that the new editor put in a survey form to get some insight as to what the readers would like to read. I hope we all learned something over the past few weeks. It's been a study in organizational physiology worthy of a doctoral thesis. Hopefully we will never again miscalculate the power of timely communication or fail to employ it for the betterment of this fine organization. I personally like the fact that I can download the membership form for friends so I won't have to tear it out of my copy of High Flight magazine.Keep up the good workSam Wright, New Editor-High Flight magazine Sam F. Thomasian <hat@ma.ultranet.com> Nortoborough, ma USA - March 22, 1998 at 7:44.16 As one of the critics of the Orlando action, I am very happy to see the guest book in operation again! The IMAA site is my first bookmark, and I view it daily. I'm certain many, many more memgers have access to the site than are registered with Red Scholfield. This guest book can be a meaningful tool for instant communication. I would hope that all will respect each other, and will not get into slama, threats, intimidations, etc. that will cause their message to be refused or the site to be terminated once again. Bill Johnson <bj1235@Iquest,net> Gaston, IN USA - March 22, 1998 at 4:53.59 Still one of my favorite sites. a.v.
