Having just moved up from California, I was hoping to find flying fields where other IMAA members fly. Don’t see much action within the IMAA’s new forum here, so hopefully this note will start a thread that lets others know within the state that IMAA flyers really exist in the Great Northwest!

Welcome! I live in Central Washington but do not know any fellow IMAA members. If you are in the area April 23-25 there is a Big Bird's fly-in at Ben's Strip in Zillah, WA although this is not an official IMAA event.

Welcome Jon, The summers here are Beautiful! All week long. Come out and try the Canby Dusters in Woodburn. Lots of large aircraft and they have a Bigger Bird event in June. Lots of great people.

Hey Jon, Most of the fields in Western Washington are just beginning to recover from a very wet winter and most will be up and running in the next few weeks. How is the build coming on the big P-47? I hope you and your wife are getting settled and I look forward to getting with you this summer to get some serious flying done. My son and I are working on a P-38 and a F7F tigercat. Looking forward to getting both of them into the air. I hope you can get your Jug out to a few of the big bird events as I'm sure it will impress lots of guys that have a big interest in Warbirds.

Hi Jack! We found a place in Gig Harbor. I hope to see you and meet your son at an event this summer. I could not find those flying fields we talked about? I have flown at Marymoor and a smaller field surrounded by tall trees just west of Gig Harbor. Please send me an address or club website link to those fields we spoke about. I look forward to meeting other flyers here in the Great Northwest. Also, I thought wet winters were the norm up here, the flying changes I’ve been surprised by are the strong crosswinds and very tall trees that surround the flying fields. Email is EquinoxRC@comcast.net or Website is www.MNBigBirds.com

Great to see a little Forum activity!
