On Sunday June 6^th Greg Wentz and I traveled down to Brooking, SD to take part in the Aeromates IMAA event.  When we pulled into the field we immediately noticed the wet conditions.  As we later learned, it had rained Saturday until about noon.  At that point everyone headed into town and had lunch. The skies began to clear and by 2:00 the flying conditions were perfect.  The field was in heavy use until dark.  Once we got set up and ready to fly we were greeted by 15+ mph winds, fortunately the wind was just about straight down the runway.  The winds did not have a major affect on the event and the flight line was busy most of the day.

Looks like summer is finally starting to happen around this part of the country and our events are ready to kick in full force.   District IX has 10 events scheduled so far this year.  The first event will be hosted by the Aeromates of Brookings SD.  I plan to make the trek down for this event.  I am not sure which day or days I will be attending yet, I will be watching the weather as the event nears and try to pick the best day.  We still need to try and get some events in both Wyoming and Colorado.  If anyone in these states needs help getting an event put together or help trying to convince an event to sanction with us, let me know any I will do my best to make it happen.
