Some of our Members have said after Joining the IMAA on-line they have not heard anything back from the IMAA and did not receive their IMAA Membership number. We have had some confusion on the new website for new Members joining on-line. I will try to cover this part and add a note to our renewing Members. More will be covered in the spring issue of High Flight.
When a person uses the IMAA web site to join the IMAA for the first time, he or she has to REGISTER and make up a username and password (remember to write these down and save them). The website will explain to check back in 24 to 48 hours to get your new IMAA Membership Number. When PayPal accepts payment, it sends a notice to our Secretary/Treasurer. His next task is to assign the new member and IMAA membership number. Given the fact that this has to be processed manually, the new member does not receive any further communication and will need to check back on the website after the number has been assigned to print a membership card.
When logging back in (notice I said LOGGING IN, DO NOT RE-REGISTER) click the log-in button. Use the same username and password you set up when you initially registered. This is the reason you must write down and save this information. Once you have logged back in, you may click the Print Membership Card link. If your membership number has been assigned, it will be displayed on the membership card along with your membership expiration date. You can now print your membership card (you might wish to print an extra copy or two to put in your transmitter case!). If your number IS NOT DISPLAYED on your membership card, the process has not been completed and you will need to allow a bit more time (sometimes Don might be out of town for a day or two).
For our members that already have a membership number that are using the website for the first time, all you have to do when going to the new IMAA web site is just log-in (please do not re-register) using your IMAA Membership number as both your username and password. Please make sure you change your password to keep access to your account secure as possible. You may change your password by just clicking on your Name which is displayed next to the log-out button (right side top of the page).
Hope this information will help clear up some of the issues, just remember when setting up and going into the new world of electronic we may have some bumps in the road and we will fix them as soon as possible.
Thanksā¦
